September 17 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

5.00$

Host Kris Ferris

Songwriter Sunday – $5.00 Cover charge (tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance –  we recommend in advance because our Barrel Room Seating is limited.. see below for online ticket option, or call 336-644-9908).

Come enjoy some wine & live music by the best of our local songwriting talent! Kris Ferris hosts this performance melange, with each singer/songwriter performing his or her songs in the round. They will also take you behind the scenes and learn what inspires their compositions, the stories behind the songs and the process of song writing through each songwriter’s eyes and experience. It is an interactive event and audience participation is encouraged (but please be respectful and don’t converse with your neighbor while the artists are speaking or singing).

Also note:  If this is your first time visiting and you would like to do a tasting before the event, we suggest you come at least 30-45 minutes before to allow for a relaxed tasting experience.  Tastings are conducted in our Tasting Room.  You will be served there and when the door opens for the Songwriter Performance, you will then be seated in the Barrel Room.  Tasting Fees are $7/$10 for regular or reserve wine options, respectively.

Barry Gray  –

Barry Gray is a 2017-18 N.C. Arts Council Fellowship recipient. Also the winner of the 2016 Triad Music Festival Songwriter Stand-Off, he lives in Burlington and attended Elon University.

Like many musicians, Gray has paid the bills with a day job in another field, earning money as an upholsterer. Since 1995, he has played with the acoustic rock band Graymatter, and often contributed to other artists’ work as a vocalist or arranger. For his own work, he has had many influences, including The Beatles, The Four Seasons, The Kingston Trio, Cat Stevens, CSN, and others, but says his music has been most profoundly affected by playing with family and friends, and where he finds his greatest joy: “My biggest love in music is the harmony. I hear most of the beauty in the harmonies, in voices coming together to carry, support, and shape the emotions of the song. That’s where I live.”
