Since then he has played in numerous bluegrass\, indie rock\, country\, cajun/zydeco\, and jazz projects throughout central North Carolina. Inspired by bluegrassers such as Mike Bub\, Rob Wasserman\, and Tom Gray he keeps the party moving. Harold’s passion for the rivers and streams throughout the state led to him proposing the band name\, The Carolina Heelsplitters\, a federally protected freshwater mussel that only occurs in a small area along the North and South Carolina stateline.\n\nWith over 30 years of experience as a performer and songwriter\, Greensboro’s Greg Eldred has become a celebrated figure in the realms of Bluegrass\, Americana\, and country music. Drawing inspiration from the legendary sounds of Doc Watson\, Bill Monroe\, and Jerry Reed\, Greg’s music resonates with authenticity and heartfelt storytelling.  Throughout his career\, Greg has showcased his versatility as an artist\, captivating audiences with his skilled guitar playing and soulful vocals. His ability to traverse various musical genres has not only enriched his performances but has also positioned him as an established songwriter\, with his works being recorded by national artists. This recognition highlights his talent and dedication to the craft\, making him a sought-after collaborator in the music industry.\n\nBanjoist Marshall Gray is a native of Lynchburg\, Va and currently resides in Haw River\, NC.  Marshall was exposed to bluegrass and old time at an early age through local acts\, seeing the Reno and Smiley show on TV each morning\, and annual family visits to Galax Fiddlers convention.  He attended East Tennessee State University where he fell into a hotbed of bluegrass\, including taking the then one hour bluegrass band class (which has now become a full program). His primary banjo influences are Sammy Shelor and Ron Block.  Marshall completed a military career but was able to squeeze in working with bands such as Atlanta based\, Pilgrims; VA’s Deja Moo; and Triangle’s White Pine Hollow\, and The String Machine.\nCome out and enjoy an eclectic repertoire best described simply as\, “Splittergrass”!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor information about High Lonesome Strings Bluegrass Association and today’s band visit \nhttp://www.highlonesomestrings.org/ \nWine\, beer\, and non-alcoholic beverages will be for sale.  Your purchases are what enables us to host great live music in our community!  Thank you in advance for your patronage. \n

Sarah began classical vocal studies at age 12 and started singing professionally at age 16 with the party band Timepiece. After performing with Timepiece for 6 years and earning a BA in vocal performance at Greensboro College\, Sarah co-founded the music ensemble Certified Organic with Andy Eversole; the group performed a mix of folk\, bluegrass\, and Americana. Subsequently\, during 9 years as part of the band Black and Blue\, Sarah expanded her repertoire by singing pop\, Motown\, and R&B classics all over the East Coast. Sarah joined American Cruise Lines as a resident entertainer in 2023\, sharing the gift of music on America’s rivers and oceans.\n\n\nIn addition to delivering stunning versions of the National Anthem for high profile events like the 2020 U.S. Figure Skating Championships\, Sarah has been a prolific studio recording artist for many North Carolina-based song-writers and groups\, including The Catalinas\, Andy Eversole\, Viva La Muerte\, Banjo Earth Band\, The Deluge\, and Dan Shull. In 2008\, Sarah’s lead vocal on the song “My Sweet Talkin’ Daddy” helped the song climb to number 8 on the beach music charts. Her vocals can also be heard on several film soundtracks\, including the 2018 IMAX film\, In Saturn’s Rings.\n\n\nCurrently\, Sarah enjoys contributing to new recording projects and appearing with a wide variety of groups. Since then\, they’ve evolved into a distinctive force in the indie scene\, releasing two full-length albums\, one EP\, and a series of singles that showcase their evolving sound and artistic vision. \nJustin Cohen \n \nJustin Cohen is a singer/songwriter/producer who was born in California and has bounced back and forth from coast to coast 3 times and currently hails from North Carolina. SUMMARY:Barrel Room Concert - Randal Bays with Don Penzien
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 8th\, 2025 –  Randal Bays and Don Penzien perform an intimate Barrel Room Concert at Stonefield Cellars Winery – 7:30-9:30pm  (Door opens at 7:00pm for wine purchases and seating)\nWe celebrate our own Scotch-Irish heritage this month by bringing you a  real deal\, traditional style Irish music concert performed by two master instrumentalists in Fiddle and Guitar.\nTickets are $25 (Reserved Table Seating) or $20 (General Admission Chair seating). \nRandal Bays is an American born\, Irish style fiddler and guitarist who brings power and passion to the old tradition. He’s devoted many years to learning not just the tunes\, but more importantly the feeling of Irish traditional music as handed down by the many great players and music lovers past and present. He renders the music with an intensity not commonly heard in any genre\, powered by a deep love of the music\, the culture\, and a heartfelt wish to share this magnificent tradition with audiences. \n  \n“A commanding presence on the fiddle.” – The Irish Times \n“His playing has power and passion… simply a joy to listen to.” – Dirty Linen Magazine \n“Randal Bays is one of the few Americans to have mastered the complex art of traditional Irish fiddling.” – Gearoid O hAllmhurain (author of “A Pocket History of Irish Traditional Music”) \n“Bays is a rare beast\, a true master of both fiddle and guitar.” \n– Cork Examiner (Ireland) \nAs a guitarist\, he is acclaimed thusly by other Celtic style masters: \nTony McManus – “My first awareness of Randal was the exquisite backing he provided to Martin Hayes landmark debut album- guitar playing so precise\, so appropriate that I studied it in great detail. Only later did I get the full measure of Mr Bays’ phenomenal musicality both as a player of guitar as melody instrument and also as an excellent fiddler in command of a huge repertoire of tunes both familiar and not so. As a guitarist Randal brings to bear a deep and grounded understanding of the essence of the tune as well as fabulous technique. Indeed\, these work together to produce great music that is both original and idiomatic. This is a serious contribution to making the guitar sing within the tradition we love.
