DESCRIPTION:Reservations are Required for this Event –   \nNote the Earlier start time!!!! \nWe will be holding a special Wine Reception hour from 5:30-6:30 before we eat (Dinner will be from 6:30-7:30)\, music jam follows. \nSee below WHY we are doing something a little different this time! \nSoup & Sing is a combination pot-luck dinner\, jam session\, and folk gathering for local musicians/singers and music lovers that harkens back to a time when there were no radios or TVs and music was what we made together\, face to face\, an essential part of our soul as necessary as the food that nourished our bodies.   Many different genres of music may be represented during the evening (bluegrass\, celtic\, blues\, folk\, rock\, gospel\, etc.)\, but usually it is acoustic (we do mike vocals though\, so singers can be heard).  Even if you are not a musician as long as you’re a fan of Stonefield Cellars that loves wine and music\, you are welcome to come.   We appreciate your support of local music and local wine!  (Wine sales provide the financial support to make this event possible.) \nNOTE:  This is a SPECIAL Soup & Sing in that it will follow the 1st Annual “Healing through Music & Movement Workshop” held from 9am-5:30 pm the same day at Stonefield Cellars.  Sponsored by MARATHON JAM™\,  this one-day interactive workshop will be focused on world class insights and techniques involving music and movement to support healing and self-care.  The workshop participants will be individuals dedicated to providing creative arts therapy (music\, dance\, visual\, recreational\, etc.)\,  especially therapists that work with veterans\, first responders\, senior citizens and others experiencing on-going life trauma. For more information about the day-time workshop\, visit Healing Through Music and Movement \nTo those NOT attending the workshop but coming to SOUP & SING\, PLEASE bring a dish to share (i.e.\, potluck dinner item).  It can be a meat or vegetable dish or a dessert.  And remember\, we are starting EARLIER than usual and we want you to participate in the Wine Reception (please arrive between 5:30 and 6:30)….. \n>>WINE AND TEA RECEPTION –  For both Workshop Participants and Soup & Sing Participants!   From 5:30 – 6:30 we will hold a Reception to give workshop participants/workshop leaders an opportunity to meet and mingle with our local music community.  FREE samples of pre-selected Stonefield Cellars wines will be offered to help you choose what you might want to buy for enjoying with dinner or for taking home!!!   A percentage of all WINE SALES between 5:30 and 10:00 PM will be donated to MARATHON JAM!  TEAS provided by Cape Breton Tea Company and presented by Dr. Michelle Greenwell. \n  \nPLEASE RSVP to the RECEPTION and/or SOUP & SING  below….. \n  \nIf you need more info  about this event\, please contact Natalie at 336-689-4071 or email nwurz@stonefieldcellars.com  \n

DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, 7/23/24 –  2:30 – 6:00pm \nStonefield Cellars hosts another High Lonesome Strings Bluegrass Association Monthly Meeting\, featuring member band Hubert Lawson and The Bluegrass Boys with Vera (see details below). \nNote:  A brief annual board/officers election will be held prior to the concert\, followed by a jam session with band members and other local bluegrass musicians.   This is event is FREE to the public! \nEvent will be held INSIDE our air-conditioned Barrel Room.   \n \n  \n \n\n\nHigh Lonesome Strings Bluegrass Association presents Hubert Lawson & the Bluegrass Country Boys with Vera at 2:30 pm at Stonefield Cellars Winery in Stokesdale NC.\nHubert and his sons Lee and Eddie organized their band in 1980. They feature the best in Traditional and Modern Bluegrass\, Square Dance music\, and their own original compositions. They play a variety of music including traditional\, Bluegrass\, modern Bluegrass\, Gospel\, Square Dance\, some country and even the occasional rock and roll song. To date the band has recorded 5 CD’s\nThe band has played up and down the east coast\, including North and South Carolina\, Virginia\, West Virginia\, Tennessee and New York. The band continues to travel\, perform and enjoy the music as much as the first day they started.\nOver the years Hubert and the band have been fortunate enough to play on shows with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver\, Jim & Jesse McReynolds\, Bill Monroe\, Jimmy Martin\, The Lost & Found\, The Tony Rice Unit\, Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys and many others.\nThe band consists of:\nHubert Lawson – Leader and spokesperson for the group. SUMMARY:Soup and Sing - Potluck Dinner and Jam Session
DESCRIPTION:Reservations are Required for this Event   \nSoup & Sing is a combination pot-luck dinner\, jam session\, and folk gathering for local musicians/singers and music lovers that harkens back to a time when there were no radios or TVs and music was what we made together\, face to face\, an essential part of our soul as necessary as the food that nourished our bodies.   Many different genres of music may be represented during the evening (bluegrass\, celtic\, blues\, folk\, rock\, gospel\, etc.)\, but usually it is acoustic (we do mike vocals though\, so singers can be heard).  Even if you are not a musician as long as you’re a fan of Stonefield Cellars that loves wine and music\, you are welcome to come.   We appreciate your support of local music and local wine!  (Wine sales provide the financial support to make this event possible.) \nCheck out a video of a fun jam session here: \nhttps://stonefieldcellars.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/SoupandSingFeb2023trimmed.mp4\nLarge Parties/Groups Policy:  Due to our policy to preserve the intimacy of the gathering and the need to stay within our capacity limit\, Soup & Sing is not an event for large private parties or groups (more than 8 people in a single party/group).   We do however rent our barrel room for private parties and we can provide you with contact info re: bands for hire.   We also hold barrel room concerts and outdoor music events at the winery during which we can provide concert/festival seating for large groups. \nIf you have questions about this event\, please contact Natalie at nwurz@stonefieldcellars.com \nPlease RSVP below…
