SUMMARY:Soup & Sing - Potluck Dinner and Jam Session
DESCRIPTION:Soup & Sing – Potluck Dinner and Jam Session \nLocation: Stonefield Cellars Winery \n \nReservations for Soup and Sing are Required – Please call 336-644-9908. Soup & Sing is a combination pot-luck dinner\, jam session\, and folk gathering for local musicians/singers and music lovers that harkens back to a time when there were no radios or TVs and music was what we made together\, face to face\, an essential part of our soul as necessary as the food that nourished our bodies.   Many different genres of music may be represented during the evening (bluegrass\, celtic\, blues\, folk\, rock\, gospel\, etc.)\, but usually it is acoustic (we do mike vocals though\, so singers can be heard).  If you are not a musician but are a friend or family member of a musician or are a Friend of Stonefield Cellars that loves wine and music\, you are welcome to come.   We appreciate your support of local music and local wine!  (Wine sales provide the financial support to make this event possible.) \nLarge Parties/Groups Policy:  Due to our policy to preserve the intimacy of the gathering and the need to stay within our capacity limit\, Soup & Sing is not an event for large private parties or groups (more than 8 people in a single party/group).   We do however rent our barrel room for private parties and we can provide you with contact info re: bands for hire.   We also hold barrel room concerts and outdoor music events at the winery during which we can provide concert/festival seating for large groups. \nIf you are interested in attending\, RSVP at 644-9908 or email nwurz@stonefieldcellars.com.  You will be given more details about the evening.

SUMMARY:Barrel Room Concert - Gerry O'Beirne (Guitar Master Series) -10/31/19
DESCRIPTION:  \nStonefield Cellars Barrel Room Concert – Thursday 10/31/19 – Gerry O’Beirne. \nConcert is at 7:30 pm\, Door opens at 7:00pm. \nAs part of our ongoing Guitar Master Series\, we are pleased to bring to the Stonefield Cellars Barrel Room\, all the way from Ireland\, Gerry O’Beirne! \nBorn in Ennis\, County Clare\, along Ireland’s music-rich west coast\, Gerry O’Beirne is a renowned singer\, songwriter\, record producer and guitarist (6 and 12 string guitar\, tiple\, and ukulele\, slide guitar among others).  He grew up in Ireland and in Ghana in West Africa\, and has since lived in England\, California\, and Mexico. He lives now near Dingle in Co Kerry. His own compositions blend the passion found in traditional music with the freshness of contemporary song. \nGerry’s much loved first solo album Half Moon Bay features The Holy Ground\, Half Moon Bay\, Western Highway and The Shades Of Gloria which have been sung by Maura O’Connell\, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh\, Mary Black and many other great singers. His second album The Bog Bodies And Other Stories: Music For Guitar was named CD of the Month on the American radio show Echoes\, and one of its essential albums of the year. “Yesterday I Saw The Earth Beautiful”\, a duet album with fiddler Rosie Shipley featured his own songs\, settings of poems by Paddy Kavanagh and Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill along with traditional tunes from Ireland and Cape Breton. \nGerry has toured the world as a solo artist and with the Sharon Shannon Band\, Patrick Street\, Midnight Well\, Andy M. Stewart\, Kevin Burke\, Andy Irvine\, and the Waterboys.  He has performed at the White House\, opened for the Grateful Dead\, played electric guitar with Marianne Faithfull and thought nothing of playing with a Romanian orchestra and choir in a cemetery in Transylvania at night. He has written music for film and theatre and appeared on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. Recently he has been working with New York composer Peter Gordon on a recording of the music of the legendary Arthur Russell\, and recorded recently with Peter Gordon and Tim Burgess of the Charlatans. \n“Gerry O’Beirne has written some of the best new tunes to come out of Ireland’s Celtic music scene. O’Beirne’s guitar playing is always a thing of wonder and his lyrics have become increasingly poetic and emotionally deep.”                                                                                                 – Dirty Linen about “Half Moon Bay” \n“The instrumentals are out of this world. A self taught master of the 6 and 12 string guitar\, the playing of O’Beirne is superlative and subtle beyond words.” – The Sunday Times \n“His works are simple\, elegiac and exquisitely worded pen pictures of life’s experiences.” – Rock ‘N’ Reel \n“A masterpiece.” – Folkworld about Half Moon Bay \n“He’s a lovely singer\, a powerful performer and a master musician.” – Evening Herald \n  \nOne of the great things about our Barrel Room is the intimate setting it provides so that you will be able to hear the intricacies of Gerry’s playing and every lyric in the musical stories he will present!!!! \nDoor opens at 7:00 pm\, concert starts at 7:30 pm. \nCOST: Advance tickets are $18\, $16 for Wine Club Members\, $20 at door. See below for advance ticket option! (Wine Club Member’s please call the winery at 336-644-9908 to purchase discounted tickets! SUMMARY:Barrel Room Concert - Sideline -10/26/19
DESCRIPTION:  \nStonefield Cellars Barrel Room Concert – Saturday 10/26/19 –\nSideline  (Award Winning Bluegrass!)  THIS CONCERT IS NOW SOLD OUT!!\nConcert is at 7:30 pm\, Door opens at 7:00pm. \n \n  \nOne of the great things about our Barrel Room is the intimate setting it provides so that you will be able to experience Sideline’s playing up close\, ‘front and center’ (pun intended\, see below).  This is an exceptional opportunity we have to present this award winning band – don’t miss out on your chance to see them at Stonefield Cellars! \nSideline is a pedigreed six-piece powerhouse whose style has set the pace in Bluegrass for over two decades. Founders Steve Dilling\, Skip Cherryholmes and Jason Moore can all claim their own historical significance to the genre as members of highly awarded groups\, multiple Grand Ole Opry appearances and years of national and international touring. \nWhat started as a side project for the seasoned players soon moved to the front and center as the three were joined by talents of Bailey Coe; guitar\, Zack Arnold; mandolin\, and Daniel Greeson; fiddle\, and began to record and release albums in earnest. \nTo listen to Sideline reminds the fan of why so many people fall in love with Bluegrass in the first place; pulse-pounding drive\, songs sung from the heart\, perfected timing and dynamics as well as a visceral emotion in the rendering. A band that was started as an off-season fun experiment has become a full-time dream team of players and singers. \nThe band\, recorded or live\, move dynamically from well chosen\, hard-hitting neo-traditional covers of classic songs to new material curated by a band with a perfect sense of who they are and what they have to say. Combine all this with their on-stage energy and finesse as well as their powerful and affecting harmonies\, and you have the embodiment of the North Carolina Bluegrass sound. Sideline has released 3 national projects and currently records for the highly awarded Mountain Home Music Company based near Asheville\, NC. \nSideline was just awarded  the IBMA (International  Bluegrass Association) 2019 Song of the Year for their “Thunder Dan” hit as found on their album “Front and Center”. \nFor individual bios and links to videos\, etc.\, visit sidelinewebsite \nDoor opens at 7:00 pm\, concert starts at 7:30 pm. \nCOST: Tickets are $25.   Seating is limited and there is the possibility we will sell out\, so advance purchase is recommended. See below for online ticket option or call the winery at 336-644-9908\, or call Natalie directly at 336-689-4071 (leave a voicemail if she doesn’t pick up right away!). \nDRINKS: Wine\, Beer\, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. \nFOOD: As there is no food vendor for this concert we recommend eating beforehand.
