SUMMARY:Fiddle Tunes Friendzy - Learn and Play Fiddle Tunes - May
DESCRIPTION:  \nTunes\, Tunes\, Tunes … FIDDLE tunes specifically!   This is not a singing jam\, but an opportunity to learn (or teach) fiddle tunes from all genres of traditional music.  All ages\, all levels\, and various instruments are welcomed (especially fiddles\, of course)\, but this session is intended to focus on the tunes themselves.    Please RSVP if you plan to attend – please RSVP to Vance Archer – vance_d_archeriii@yahoo.com \nFiddle Tune Friendzy is an all ages event.  Learn and play fiddle tunes from many traditions (Bluegrass\, Oldtime\, Irish\, Scottish\, Blues\, Cajun\, Ragtime\, Contra Dance). \nBring:  Violins\, Mandolins\, Guitars\, Banjos\, Tin Whistles\, Accordions\, Etc.Come to listen or to join in the music circle playing Fiddle Tunes \nSponsors include: Stonefield Cellars Winery\, High Lonesome Strings\, Vance Archer III\, The Thursday Music Circle \nVance Archer III Bio \n\n \nVance D. Archer III has been a musician for over 70 years with a career that spans from classical cello in the family string quartet to 40 years of leading Folk Music\, Irish Celli and Contra Dance bands in the greater New York City/New Jersey region. He plays violin\, viola\, cello\, guitar\, mandolin\, autoharp and bouzouki in a variety of musical styles. \nSince moving to Greensboro in 2005\, Vance has become active in the Triad Music and Art Scene. In addition to leading the Fiddle Tunes Friendzy\, Vance hosts the Triad Music Circle in his home\, where they enjoy playing acoustic music from many traditions. The Music Circle consists of musicians with varied abilities and interests while serving primarily as emotional musical therapy for its members. The group also serves as an introduction to group playing for his students. Vance hosts an occasional “Traveling Hootenanny” where folks join for an evening of socialization and singing.\nVance performs solo concerts in various regional venues. For these performances he often plays Guitar\, Autoharp and Fiddle while leading the singing. Vance organizes solo and group musical entertainment for social gatherings and trade shows and can gather the proper mix of musicians to accommodate most musical venues. \n \nVance would rather practice outside than inside. He can often be seen strolling in the Bog Garden\, Bicentennial Gardens\, Country Park or the Arboretum with his fiddle or sitting on a park bench with his autoharp. \n\nVance Archer Mobile: 336-314-8329 Email: vance_d_archeriii@yahoo.com

SUMMARY:Friday Flavors Concert - Zoe & Cloyd (Americana) 06/19/26
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS AVAILABLE NOW! \n\n\n\n\n“A musical collaboration that demands to be heard.”\n– Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZoe & Cloyd—the creative partnership of fiddler/vocalist Natalya Zoe Weinstein and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist John Cloyd Miller—prove that opposites truly do attract. Hailing from two distinct musical worlds\, they merge their unique backgrounds into a powerful collaboration that has garnered both critical acclaim and widespread appeal. \nNatalya\, a classically trained musician from Massachusetts with deep roots in klezmer and jazz\, joins forces with John\, a 12th-generation North Carolinian and grandson of pioneering bluegrass fiddler Jim Shumate. Together\, they create music that honors their respective traditions while forging a distinctive sound of their own. Accolades follow Zoe & Cloyd wherever they go. John is a grand prize winner of both the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Contest and the Hazel Dickens Songwriting Contest\, while Natalya has earned numerous fiddle contest wins all across the country. Based in Asheville\, NC\, they also teach in the traditional music program at Warren Wilson College\, sharing their knowledge and passion with the next generation of musicians. \nZoe & Cloyd have performed nationwide and internationally\, captivating audiences at prestigious venues and festivals like MerleFest\, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival\, Westport Folk & Bluegrass Fest in Ireland\, Earl Scruggs Music Fest\, FreshGrass Festival\, and the NC Folk Festival. Since 2022\, they have also served as the artistic directors for A Swannanoa Solstice at the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts in Asheville. \nTheir fifth studio album\, Songs of Our Grandfathers (2023\, Organic Records)\, is an homage to their bluegrass and klezmer roots. The album has earned enthusiastic praise\, with feature articles in Bluegrass Unlimited\, No Depression\, and The Bluegrass Situation. With soaring harmonies\, heartfelt songwriting\, and a seamless blend of bluegrass\, klezmer\, old-time\, and folk\, Zoe & Cloyd continue to delight audiences with their down home sincerity and musical zeal. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdvance Ticket Purchase is Recommended: You will not receive physical tickets. Your name will be placed on a Pre-Paid Will-Call list at the Entrance Table; please have your ID available in case we need to confirm your ticket purchase.
