SUMMARY:Fiddle Tunes Friendzy -  Learn and Play Fiddle Tunes
DESCRIPTION:Tunes\, Tunes\, Tunes … FIDDLE tunes specifically!   This is not a singing jam\, but an opportunity to learn (or teach) fiddle tunes from all genres of traditional music.  All ages\, all levels\, and various instruments are welcomed (especially fiddles\, of course)\, but this session is intended to focus on the tunes themselves.    Please RSVP if you plan to attend (see RSVP form below) \nFiddle Tune Friendzy is an all ages event.  Learn and play fiddle tunes from many traditions (Bluegrass\, Oldtime\, Irish\, Scottish\, Blues\, Cajun\, Ragtime\, Contra Dance). \nBring:  Violins\, Mandolins\, Guitars\, Banjos\, Tin Whistles\, Accordions\, Etc. \nThis Event is FREE.  Come to listen or to join in the music circle playing Fiddle Tunes \nSponsors include: Stonefield Cellars Winery\, High Lonesome Strings\, Vance Archer III\, The Thursday Music Circle \nVance Archer III Bio \n\n \nVance D. Archer III has been a musician for over 70 years with a career that spans from classical cello in the family string quartet to 40 years of leading Folk Music\, Irish Celli and Contra Dance bands in the greater New York City/New Jersey region. He plays violin\, viola\, cello\, guitar\, mandolin\, autoharp and bouzouki in a variety of musical styles. \nSince moving to Greensboro in 2005\, Vance has become active in the Triad Music and Art Scene. In addition to leading the Fiddle Tunes Friendzy\, Vance hosts the Triad Music Circle in his home\, where they enjoy playing acoustic music from many traditions. The Music Circle consists of musicians with varied abilities and interests while serving primarily as emotional musical therapy for its members. The group also serves as an introduction to group playing for his students. Vance hosts an occasional “Traveling Hootenanny” where folks join for an evening of socialization and singing.\nVance performs solo concerts in various regional venues. For these performances he often plays Guitar\, Autoharp and Fiddle while leading the singing. Vance organizes solo and group musical entertainment for social gatherings and trade shows and can gather the proper mix of musicians to accommodate most musical venues. \n \nVance would rather practice outside than inside. They bring together their combined influences of roots\, blues\, rock and soul\, delivering a truly original package that could only be born of two people living and working under the same roof. Tyler discovered his passion for music while losing his vision to RP\, a degenerative retinal disease- and Emma comes from a background in multi-genre vocal performance\, beginning with classical training at an early age. Ty’s steady and cool nature balances Em’s gutsy emotionality\, and together they are a musical force. He plays violin\, viola\, cello\, guitar\, mandolin\, autoharp and bouzouki in a variety of musical styles. \nSince moving to Greensboro in 2005\, Vance has become active in the Triad Music and Art Scene. In addition to leading the Fiddle Tunes Friendzy\, Vance hosts the Triad Music Circle in his home\, where they enjoy playing acoustic music from many traditions. The Music Circle consists of musicians with varied abilities and interests while serving primarily as emotional musical therapy for its members. The group also serves as an introduction to group playing for his students. Vance hosts an occasional “Traveling Hootenanny” where folks join for an evening of socialization and singing.\nVance performs solo concerts in various regional venues. For these performances he often plays Guitar\, Autoharp and Fiddle while leading the singing. Vance organizes solo and group musical entertainment for social gatherings and trade shows and can gather the proper mix of musicians to accommodate most musical venues. \n \nVance would rather practice outside than inside. With decades of collective musical experience\, The Carolina Heelsplitters deliver a unique sound influenced by a rich tapestry of backgrounds ranging from bluegrass\, old time\, cajun\, blues\, and acoustic rock. They have been performing fun\, engaging\, live shows for over a decade\, throughout the Triangle & Triad areas and are always a crowd favorite.\n\nBand co-founder\, Fiddling Chris Mankoff makes his home in the Bull City. He started playing classical violin at a young age\, inspired by great North Carolina fiddler Tommy Jarrell\, he began playing old-time fiddle in his 20’s. Chris seamlessly blends bluegrass\, old-time\, cajun\, country & western and Irish fiddle styles. A singer\, songwriter\, composer and multi-instrumentalist\, Chris’s main bluegrass influences are Bill Monroe\, Curly Ray Cline\, Kenny Baker and Bobby Hicks\, but his diverse musical influences run deep and are a source of endless surprises.\n\nHarold Brady\, a band co-founder and Triangle resident\, hails from Moore County\, playing bass in bluegrass bands throughout his time at NC State University in the 1990’s. Since then he has played in numerous bluegrass\, indie rock\, country\, cajun/zydeco\, and jazz projects throughout central North Carolina. Inspired by bluegrassers such as Mike Bub\, Rob Wasserman\, and Tom Gray he keeps the party moving. Harold’s passion for the rivers and streams throughout the state led to him proposing the band name\, The Carolina Heelsplitters\, a federally protected freshwater mussel that only occurs in a small area along the North and South Carolina stateline.\n\nWith over 30 years of experience as a performer and songwriter\, Greensboro’s Greg Eldred has become a celebrated figure in the realms of Bluegrass\, Americana\, and country music. Drawing inspiration from the legendary sounds of Doc Watson\, Bill Monroe\, and Jerry Reed\, Greg’s music resonates with authenticity and heartfelt storytelling.  Throughout his career\, Greg has showcased his versatility as an artist\, captivating audiences with his skilled guitar playing and soulful vocals. His ability to traverse various musical genres has not only enriched his performances but has also positioned him as an established songwriter\, with his works being recorded by national artists. In addition to leading the Fiddle Tunes Friendzy\, Vance hosts the Triad Music Circle in his home\, where they enjoy playing acoustic music from many traditions. The Music Circle consists of musicians with varied abilities and interests while serving primarily as emotional musical therapy for its members. The group also serves as an introduction to group playing for his students. Vance hosts an occasional “Traveling Hootenanny” where folks join for an evening of socialization and singing.\nVance performs solo concerts in various regional venues. For these performances he often plays Guitar\, Autoharp and Fiddle while leading the singing. Vance organizes solo and group musical entertainment for social gatherings and trade shows and can gather the proper mix of musicians to accommodate most musical venues. \n \nVance would rather practice outside than inside. Go check them out! \n\n\nBIO Sarah Strable:\n\n\nSarah Strable is a vocalist\, yoga instructor\, and healing arts practitioner in Greensboro\, NC. Sarah began classical vocal studies at age 12 and started singing professionally at age 16 with the party band Timepiece. After performing with Timepiece for 6 years and earning a BA in vocal performance at Greensboro College\, Sarah co-founded the music ensemble Certified Organic with Andy Eversole; the group performed a mix of folk\, bluegrass\, and Americana. Subsequently\, during 9 years as part of the band Black and Blue\, Sarah expanded her repertoire by singing pop\, Motown\, and R&B classics all over the East Coast. Sarah joined American Cruise Lines as a resident entertainer in 2023\, sharing the gift of music on America’s rivers and oceans.\n\n\nIn addition to delivering stunning versions of the National Anthem for high profile events like the 2020 U.S. Figure Skating Championships\, Sarah has been a prolific studio recording artist for many North Carolina-based song-writers and groups\, including The Catalinas\, Andy Eversole\, Viva La Muerte\, Banjo Earth Band\, The Deluge\, and Dan Shull. In 2008\, Sarah’s lead vocal on the song “My Sweet Talkin’ Daddy” helped the song climb to number 8 on the beach music charts. Her vocals can also be heard on several film soundtracks\, including the 2018 IMAX film\, In Saturn’s Rings.\n\n\nCurrently\, Sarah enjoys contributing to new recording projects and appearing with a wide variety of groups. DESCRIPTION:Online tickets for this concert will be available starting May 1st through  3PM the day of the concert\, tickets sold at the gate thereafter. \nFRIDAY FLAVORS CONCERT – MOXIE BAND – June 6th\, 2025 – 7-9ish pm \nPresenting the best in Classic R&B\, Soul & Funk\, Moxie Band has the energy\, style\, and impeccable musicianship it takes to be worthy of us touting them as OUR FAVORITE.  We think they will be yours too!  The dance floor will be hopping this night\, for sure! \nAdvance Ticket Purchase is Recommended: You will not receive physical tickets. Your name will be placed on a Pre-Paid Will-Call list at the Entrance Table; please have your ID available in case we need to confirm your ticket purchase. If you have any questions regarding tickets you can reach us over the phone at 336-644-9908 during regular business hours (12-6pm Thurs-Sat & 1-6pm Sun). \nCOST:  See Seating Options below. \nEVENT TIMELINE:   Concert is from 7-9 (or a wee bit later) pm. The Food Truck will be ready to serve by 6:30 pm. Guests may arrive at any time prior to the concert. After 6:30 pm\, at-the-gate sales and Will Call check-in will be at our Entrance Table. \nINSIDE OR OUT?: This concert will be held OUTSIDE in our lovely garden\, rain or shine. Dress for the weather.  Should severe\, unsafe conditions arise\, it is possible that the concert will be delayed or interrupted until it is safe to start/resume.  We will post any schedule changes on our website and on the Stonefield Cellars Winery Facebook Page. \nSEATING:    \n\n4-person Front Row VIP Bistro Seating for $60 (includes admission for four)\n6-person Front Row VIP Glass-Top Table Seating for $90 (includes admission for six)\n4-person Pavilion VIP Bistro Seating for $60 (includes admission for four)\nGeneral Admission ($12.50/person): Bring a lawn chair for our terraced lawn area\, or we have first-come-first-seat picnic tables in the upper garden.\nSide Lawn Admission ($10/person): Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket. This area does not have a direct view of the band! Best for guests who want plenty of room to socialize\, drink and dance. Side Lawn attendees can still hear the music and the lawn has easy access to our Tasting Room & Food Truck. DESCRIPTION:Tunes\, Tunes\, Tunes … FIDDLE tunes specifically!   This is not a singing jam\, but an opportunity to learn (or teach) fiddle tunes from all genres of traditional music.  All ages\, all levels\, and various instruments are welcomed (especially fiddles\, of course)\, but this session is intended to focus on the tunes themselves.    Please RSVP if you plan to attend (see RSVP form below) \nFiddle Tune Friendzy is an all ages event.  Learn and play fiddle tunes from many traditions (Bluegrass\, Oldtime\, Irish\, Scottish\, Blues\, Cajun\, Ragtime\, Contra Dance). \nBring:  Violins\, Mandolins\, Guitars\, Banjos\, Tin Whistles\, Accordions\, Etc. \nThis Event is FREE.  Come to listen or to join in the music circle playing Fiddle Tunes \nSponsors include: Stonefield Cellars Winery\, High Lonesome Strings\, Vance Archer III\, The Thursday Music Circle \nVance Archer III Bio \n\n \nVance D. Archer III has been a musician for over 70 years with a career that spans from classical cello in the family string quartet to 40 years of leading Folk Music\, Irish Celli and Contra Dance bands in the greater New York City/New Jersey region. He plays violin\, viola\, cello\, guitar\, mandolin\, autoharp and bouzouki in a variety of musical styles. \nSince moving to Greensboro in 2005\, Vance has become active in the Triad Music and Art Scene. In addition to leading the Fiddle Tunes Friendzy\, Vance hosts the Triad Music Circle in his home\, where they enjoy playing acoustic music from many traditions. The Music Circle consists of musicians with varied abilities and interests while serving primarily as emotional musical therapy for its members. The group also serves as an introduction to group playing for his students. Vance hosts an occasional “Traveling Hootenanny” where folks join for an evening of socialization and singing.\nVance performs solo concerts in various regional venues. For these performances he often plays Guitar\, Autoharp and Fiddle while leading the singing. Vance organizes solo and group musical entertainment for social gatherings and trade shows and can gather the proper mix of musicians to accommodate most musical venues. \n \nVance would rather practice outside than inside.
