DESCRIPTION: Nature Hike followed by Winery Visit   \nHike at Knight-Brown Nature Preserve (see map link below)- Meet at 9:30 a.m at the trail head (hike should be completed around noon) then after the hike we travel to nearby Stonefield Cellars Winery for a bring-your-own picnic lunch and wine tasting (or buy wine by the glass/bottle\, snacks\, beer and non-alcoholic beverages available also).  Wine tasting fees will need to be paid at the winery.  There is no fee to participate in the hike.  Natalie will share information about how you can support the Piedmont Land Conservancy\, the organization that is the steward for this beautiful property. \n\nEnjoy the late spring outdoors with a hike at Knight-Brown Nature Preserve\, just a few miles north-west of Stonefield Cellars Winery. Natalie will lead the hike at this beautiful nature preserve which includes multiple trail loops\, a few steep hills\, a beautiful creek\, and interpretive signs along the way. If all loops are hiked\, mileage will total 3.43. Number of loops hiked will be determined by group participants. Note: Difficulty is easy to ‘moderate’ (only because we will go up and down a couple of hills – it’s not flat the whole way!). You must RSVP if you plan to join this hike. Natalie will give you more information before the date. For those interested\, after the hike we will head to Stonefield Cellars Winery for a (bring-your-own) picnic lunch – and wine will be available for purchase of course! Please RSVP  to nwurz@stonefieldcellars.com\n  \nGoogle Maps Link to Trailhead \nAbout Your Nature Hike Guide  \nNatalie Wurz \n  Natalie Wurz is a nature lover that has spent a lifetime of pursuing outdoor adventures. Through the years as a College Outdoor Club Officer\, Girl Scout Leader and now Business Owner (Stonefield Cellars)\, she has led groups on hikes\, camp-outs\, and kayak/rafting trips in Georgia\, Utah\, and North Carolina.  With either a fishing rod\, paddle\, hiking stick\, or camera in hand\, Natalie is comfortable on land and water and is always eager to share her passion for the year round beauty of our natural world with others. Note:  The photo you see here was taken by the ox-bow of the creek beside the trail we will be walking at the Knight-Brown Nature Preserve! \nNatalie will lead you on a nature walk through the Knight-Brown Nature Preserve located in Stokesdale\, NC.   Difficulty of the trail is rated as Easy to Moderate.  You must be able to walk from 1-1/2 to 2 hours – we will stop and take photos and rest as necessary since some of the walk will be uphill.  Important!!!!   While there are bridges for crossing the creek\, some trail areas may be muddy if we’ve had recent rain\, and sometimes the trail may be slippery with leaves.  Therefore\, sturdy\, closed toe shoes are a must (no sandals or flip-flops).  Dress for the weather (wear layers\, bring a jacket).  If steady RAIN is in the forecast we will NOT go on the nature walk and will replace it with an INDOOR activity. \n*Times listed above are approximate as the nature walk end time will be effected by size of group and how often we stop for photos and rests. \nIf you have ANY questions about the hike or winery visit contact Natalie – 336-689-4071. \nFor more info about the nature preserve and Piedmont Land Conservancy\, click here

SUMMARY:Soup and Sing - Potluck Dinner and Jam Session
DESCRIPTION:Soup and Sing – Potluck Dinner and Jam Session \nLocation: Stonefield Cellars Winery  Start:  6:30pm  End:  10:30ish pm \n \nReservations for Soup and Sing are Required – Please call 336-644-9908. Soup & Sing is a combination pot-luck dinner\, jam session\, and folk gathering for local musicians/singers and music lovers that harkens back to a time when there were no radios or TVs and music was what we made together\, face to face\, an essential part of our soul as necessary as the food that nourished our bodies.   Many different genres of music may be represented during the evening (bluegrass\, celtic\, blues\, folk\, rock\, gospel\, etc.)\, but usually it is acoustic (we do mike vocals though\, so singers can be heard).  Even if you are not a musician as long as you’re a fan of Stonefield Cellars that loves wine and music\, you are welcome to come.   We appreciate your support of local music and local wine!  (Wine sales provide the financial support to make this event possible.) \n \nNote:  For this particular Soup and Sing\, we will be remembering Warren Ludlam\, a musician friend that regularly attended Soup and Sing along with Tunes on Tuesday jams\, concerts\, and other events at the winery over the years.  Warren suddenly passed away recently\, and we will be singing for him and lifting our hearts with memories of him. Family and friends of Warren’s are especially invited to attend as we know that’s what he would have wanted! \nIf you are interested in attending\, RSVP at 644-9908 or email nwurz@stonefieldcellars.com or RSVP below.  (Email or call if you need more information about the evening).

SUMMARY:Soup and Sing - Potluck Dinner and Jam Session
DESCRIPTION:Soup and Sing – Potluck Dinner and Jam Session \nLocation: Stonefield Cellars Winery \n \nReservations for Soup and Sing are Required – Please call 336-644-9908. (Wine sales provide the financial support to make this event possible.) \nLarge Parties/Groups Policy:  Due to our policy to preserve the intimacy of the gathering and the need to stay within our capacity limit\, Soup & Sing is not an event for large private parties or groups (more than 8 people in a single party/group).   We do however rent our barrel room for private parties and we can provide you with contact info re: bands for hire.   We also hold barrel room concerts and outdoor music events at the winery during which we can provide concert/festival seating for large groups. \nIf you are interested in attending\, RSVP at 644-9908 or email nwurz@stonefieldcellars.com.  You will be given more details about the evening.
