DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, 7/23/24 –  2:30 – 6:00pm \nStonefield Cellars hosts another High Lonesome Strings Bluegrass Association Monthly Meeting\, featuring member band Hubert Lawson and The Bluegrass Boys with Vera (see details below). \nNote:  A brief annual board/officers election will be held prior to the concert\, followed by a jam session with band members and other local bluegrass musicians.   This is event is FREE to the public! \nEvent will be held INSIDE our air-conditioned Barrel Room.   \n \n  \n \n\n\nHigh Lonesome Strings Bluegrass Association presents Hubert Lawson & the Bluegrass Country Boys with Vera at 2:30 pm at Stonefield Cellars Winery in Stokesdale NC.\nHubert and his sons Lee and Eddie organized their band in 1980. They feature the best in Traditional and Modern Bluegrass\, Square Dance music\, and their own original compositions. They play a variety of music including traditional\, Bluegrass\, modern Bluegrass\, Gospel\, Square Dance\, some country and even the occasional rock and roll song. To date the band has recorded 5 CD’s\nThe band has played up and down the east coast\, including North and South Carolina\, Virginia\, West Virginia\, Tennessee and New York. The band continues to travel\, perform and enjoy the music as much as the first day they started.\nOver the years Hubert and the band have been fortunate enough to play on shows with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver\, Jim & Jesse McReynolds\, Bill Monroe\, Jimmy Martin\, The Lost & Found\, The Tony Rice Unit\, Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys and many others.\nThe band consists of:\nHubert Lawson – Leader and spokesperson for the group. DESCRIPTION:Ticketing for this event IS NOW CLOSED!  Please consider attending the Yoga Session on Sunday  8/18/24. \nTreat yourself to a Girls Day Out at Stonefield Cellars Winery.  Please join us for an all-level\, 1 hour and 15 minute yoga class with Carra Miskovich in our air-conditioned Barrel Room.   Check in at 12:30pm*.  This heart-centered practice will be accessible to all bodies\, so if you’ve ever thought you were not flexible enough to do yoga—this is the class for you. Please wear comfortable clothing\, bring your yoga mat\, and a smile! Our focus will be on YOGA first\, then wine and food afterwards. \n Ticket Price covers YOGA Instruction only. Wine (and other beverages) and Smoke City Food Truck (delicious\, healthy Hibachi) are sold separately.  Space is limited\, so buy your tickets soon! \n* NOTE:  We are starting early (1/2 hr earlier than when we normally open on a Sunday) to accommodate Carra’s schedule on this date.  Future Yoga dates will go back to a 1:00pm start time. \n  \nWe need a minimum of 8 attendees for this class to happen – please invite others (tickets need to be purchased in advance)! \n  \nCarra Miskovich\nCarra Miskovich\, MA\, RYT-500\, QP is a registered yoga teacher (RYT-500) with Yoga Alliance (YA) and holds a Master’s degree in the social sciences. Her background in counseling and passion for helping others led her to the field of education for the last 18 years. Carra’s journey with yoga began in college. Over the years\, one thing became crystal clear\, the more she practiced\, the better she felt—both on and off the mat. Amazed by yoga’s restorative capabilities\, and ability to heal her body from chronic pain\, she was led to share the gift of yoga with others. \nA heart-based teacher\, Carra cultivates a safe and inclusive environment\, making yoga accessible to everyone. She believes the mind-body practice of yoga is the key to unlocking peace\, stability\, and overall wellness in our lives. She is currently an adjunct professor and teaches various styles of yoga in the Piedmont Triad area. She specializes in yoga for healthy aging\, emotional regulation/mental health\, chronic pain\, and PTSD\, as well as meditation\, restorative yoga\, pranayama\, and yoga nidra. Her philosophy is simple\, if you can breathe—you can do yoga!  \n

They bring together their combined influences of roots\, blues\, rock and soul\, delivering a truly original package that could only be born of two people living and working under the same roof. Tyler discovered his passion for music while losing his vision to RP\, a degenerative retinal disease- and Emma comes from a background in multi-genre vocal performance\, beginning with classical training at an early age. DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nCelebrate Earth Day (a bit late) and Celebrate the opening of three new trails at Knight-Brown Nature Preserve!   \nWhat a great opportunity to celebrate nature and the preservation of wild spaces!  Piedmont Land Conservancy (PLC)\, will be holding a ribbon-cutting celebration and guiding the hike of three new trails at the nearby Knight-Brown Nature Preserve;  Running Pines Trail\, Fern Trail\, and the Canopy View Loop (around 2 miles total).   We plan to hike these new trails and then return to the winery for a cash/credit wine and dinner reception.   West Coast Wanderer will be the Food Truck for the evening.  Schedule:  The plan is to meet at the winery at 5:00pm\, depart by 5:15pm.  The Ribbon Cutting will start at 5:30\, then we hike and finish around 7pm\, and then return to the winery for wine\, food\, and fellowship with kindred spirits.   Stonefield Cellars will donate 25% of wine sales from the event to PLC.  NOTE:  Even if you are unable to join the hike\, you are still invited to the reception!  There will be PLC staff and volunteers available to answer any questions you may have about the organization and future plans for more preservation of precious lands in our area.  And again\, you can support their efforts by purchasing our wine (and you support one of our favorite food trucks!) \nPlease RSVP no later than Thursday\, May 30th (see below).  \nFor more info about the nature preserve and Piedmont Land Conservancy\, click here
