The previous albums (a visual collaboration with DividingMe Photography\, “The Absolute Elsewhere” (Jan. 2015) as well as “Muses and Bones” (2012)) received press and glowing reviews in the US & Europe\, as well as radio airplay in the US\, UK\, & Canada\, including NPR and BBC appearances. \n  \nGlenn Jones \n \nSongs from the heart\, delivered with passion.  Glenn is a Chapel Hill\, NC-based singer\, songwriter\, electric bassist\, and guitarist.  His distinctive belting\, soulful voice is his trademark\, but his songcraft\, with hook-laden choruses and out-of-the box subject matter\, along with great storytelling\, is what is building his following.  Two US tours in the last three years have whetted Glenn’s appetite for touring. \nCurrently working on CD three with acclaimed producer/engineer Jerry Brown (working title “Ready for the Good Times”)\, the new material promises to have a more stripped-down\, back-to-the-basics\, true-to-live sound than prior offerings. A September 2019 release is planned. \nGlenn’s motto –  “Music is life”\, and he’s playing every note to the fullest. \n  \nKristy Jackson \n \nBMI award winning singer/songwriter\, Kristy Jackson\, has had singles with artists on Giant\, MCA\, Curb and Universal Records.  As an artist herself\, she had the #1 most requested song on the largest radio stations in New York and other major markets after 9/11\, “Little Did She Know (She’d Kissed A Hero)” and raised over $30\,000 for 9/11 charities. Her songs have also been featured in films by Disney\, Universal and Endemol Productions. Her song\, “Take It Back” originally recorded by Reba McEntire was recently performed by contest Aliyah Moulden in the 2017 Season 12 of NBC’s The Voice. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nRanford Almond \n \nRanford Almond is a Greensboro singer/songwriter who combines his introspective lyrics with acoustic blues and cross-picking to create a unique\, soulful sound. Ranford is known as an old-soul whose solo performance is a truly intimate experience

SUMMARY:Friday Flavors Concert - Tyler Millard Band (Rock & More)
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nFriday Flavors Concert – Tyler Millard Band (Rock & More) \nTyler Millard had been performing by himself for two years when he met Kyle Vessa and Carl Heck. Millard was heavily influenced by 9o’s alternative music and modern blues\, while Vessa and Heck had played mostly southern rock. The result of these three coming together can best be described as a folk/blues mix\, so when you add in a keyboardist and a drummer they combine to create a tight sound that will rock the house! \nNote: Advanced ticket purchase is always recommended because: 1) It helps our food vendor anticipate food amounts and 2) If the concert is held indoors\, seating is limited (we’d hate to turn you away at the door). SUMMARY:Barrel Room Concert - Sam Pacetti - Guitarist\, Singer-Songwriter
DESCRIPTION:  \nStonefield Cellars Barrel Room Concert 6/1/19 – Sam Pacetti – Guitarist/Singer-Songwriter \n \n  \nWe are pleased to bring back one of our favorite guitar masters and singer-songwriters – Sam Pacetti.  It has been too long since he has graced our barrel room stage! \n\nSam Pacetti is one who brings it all together. A fingerstyle guitar wizard. A deft songwriter\, capable of haunting depth and wry humor in the space of one song. A impassioned and ecstatic vocalist\, as well as a mesmerizing live performer\, seamlessly melding head-spinning guitar pyrotechnics and raw emotion into one breathtaking package. \nPacetti represents a culmination of the best of the American and British traditions. His 1997 Waterbug debut\, Solitary Travel\, garnered critical raves. “This guy is very good\, indeed\,” deadpanned the highly respected (and highly critical) UK magazine Folk Roots. And Dirty Linen\, the influential US roots publication\, opined\, “Although the woods are full of young guitar virtuosos\, few have developed the style\, technique and artistic wisdom of Sam Pacetti. Solitary travel heralds the arrival of one of the most talented instrumentalists and composers to appear in acoustic music in a month of Sunday’s.” \nSam Pacetti grew up in North Florida\, hardly known as a hotbed of either the folk tradition or musical innovation. Influenced by Chet Atkins\, Merle Travis\, and most profoundly by Gamble Rogers\,  Sam carries on the important element of the folk process\, the passing of music and oral tradition from teacher to student. \nTradition and innovation neatly balance in Sam Pacetti’s music\, the whole infused by a relentless intelligence intent on musical and philosophical synthesis. Martin Simpson\, Richard Thompson\, Joni Mitchell and Merle Travis are touchstones to Pacetti\, and while there are strong elements of the American primitive school of guitar wizardry throughout his work\, there is a powerful raw emotionality evident as well – an earthy sensuality more reminiscent of a Greg Brown or a red-dirt blues master than of a musical academian. \nWord has started to spread about Sam Pacetti. And as with anything truly innovative\, it starts at the grassroots. You won’t see Pacetti written up in People or Us. You won’t hear his music on Top-40 radio. No\, word is spreading about Sam Pacetti the way true innovation always does – through the grassroots. Through non-commercial radio and “specialty show” play. From tapes and CDs passed from friend to friend. At folk festivals and listening rooms. And\, in the tradition stemming from the days of rent-raising parties in the Mississippi delta – and now carried on by music aficionados unable to find music that interest them within the mainstream. \n\nOne of the great things about the Stonefield Cellars Barrel Room is the intimate setting it provides so that you can hear Sam’s guitar mastery and storytelling lyrics upfront and personal!!!! \nDoor opens at 7:00 pm\, concert starts at 7:30 pm. \nCOST: Advance tickets are $16\, $14 for Wine Club Members\, $18 at door. See below for advance ticket option! (Wine Club Member discount limited to 4 per household.) \nDRINKS: Wine\, Beer\, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. \nFOOD: As there is no food vendor for this concert we recommend eating beforehand. SUMMARY:Barrel Room Concert - Robin Bullock
DESCRIPTION:Stonefield Cellars Barrel Room Concert 5/4/19 – Robin Bullock \nWe are pleased to bring back one of our favorite internationally acclaimed artists\, Robin Bullock! \nHailed as a “Celtic guitar god” by Baltimore City Paper and “one of the best folk instrumentalists in the business” by Sing Out! Magazine\, Robin Bullock is one of the preeminent acoustic music masters of our time. \nHis virtuosity on guitar\, cittern and mandolin blends the ancient melodies of the Celtic lands\, their vigorous American descendants\, and the masterworks of the Baroque and Renaissance eras into one powerful musical vision. The 17th-century harp tunes of legendary Irish bard Turlough O’Carolan\, the spirited jigs and reels of rural Ireland\, the haunting ballads of the southern Appalachians and the timeless compositions of Bach\, Dowland and Francesco da Milano all find a musical common ground in Robin’s music\, where lightning-fast fingerwork one moment is perfectly balanced with tender\, quiet intimacy the next. A warm\, friendly presence onstage\, Robin effortlessly creates a magical world for the audience with his multi-instrumental wizardry\, taking them on an unforgettable journey into the deep heart’s core and through the music of the spheres.   One of the great things about our Barrel Room is the intimate setting it provides so that you can hear Robin’s mastery down to the most precious singular note!!!! \nDoor opens at 7:00 pm\, concert starts at 7:30 pm. \nCOST: Advance tickets are $16\, $14 for Wine Club Members\, $18 at door. It is an interactive event and audience participation is encouraged (but please be respectful and don’t converse with your neighbor while the artists are speaking or singing). \nAlso note:  If this is your first time visiting and you would like to do a tasting before the event\, we suggest you come at least 30-45 minutes before to allow for a relaxed tasting experience.  Tastings are conducted in our Tasting Room.  You will be served there and when the door opens for the Songwriter Performance\, you will then be seated in the Barrel Room.  Tasting Fee is $10.00 for 7 wines and a signature wine glass. \nSongwriters Featured:     \nPaula Dellenback \nPaula Dellenback is an award winning singer-songwriter born in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia.  Her style of storytelling through song\, brings visuals of the region’s history\, love\, trials and life. Her second original song\, “Jar Gap”\, won WPAQ’s Ralph Epperson Award for Excellence.  The Paula Dellenback & Fox River band was soon formed and her musical adventures began. Paula has appeared in numerous festivals and venues including Song of the Mountains\, IBMA After Hours Showcase\, Reeves Theater\, Heartwood\, Blackmon Amphitheater\, and many more. \n  \nJim Ritchey \nJim Ritchey grew up in Texas and learned his craft as a songwriter and performer in the famous music scenes of Dallas and Austin.  In 1976 Rusty Wier recorded his song “Coast of Colorado” and launched Jim’s career as a professional songwriter.  In the years that have followed\, his songs have been recorded and performed by numerous artists\, including Kenny Rogers (The Gambler album)\, BeJae Fleming\, Mickey Jones\, Kelley Hunt\, and Ann Rabson\, and played on radio stations around the world. Currently\, Jim resides in Greensboro\, North Carolina and continues to write carefully crafted songs and teach songwriting and guitar at weekend workshops. \n  \nDiane Rodelli \n \nDiane started playing guitar at 12\, after consuming Joni Mitchell’s first two albums and being smitten with her songs and open tunings.  At 17\, she got exposed to Delta and Chicago Blues styles from friends in Brooklyn\, and started singing with The Unknown Maracas’ Blue Bland – a seven piece ensemble that included standup bass\, acoustic piano\, and blues harmonica for a few years\, until university and graduate school took over her life.  She took a long hiatus from music making while raising a family and working\, but came back to it in her late 30’s with a vengeance\, learning more country blues styles.   For the last 20 years she has been playing – hosting the Open Mic sessions at Hillsborough’s Blue Bayou in the early 00’s\, and then co-creating Pagan Hellcats\, with Dave Rutter in 2006\, a band that prides itself in playing almost exclusively original material in the Triangle and Triad area. \n  \nDave Rutter \n \nDave grew up the youngest in a musical family in Chicago– his father played the American songbook every evening for hours\, and two brothers also played- one jump blues and the other classical.  He started playing harmonica as a child\, having been left a chromatic harp from his grandfather\, and embraced Rock n’ Roll as a departure from the music he grew up hearing.  He started playing guitar in his 20’s and within a decade created The Attitudes\, a new-wave/alternative band in the late 80’s and 90’s that enjoyed some notoriety in the Triangle.  He has been writing and performing his own songs for the last 35 years.  He has been lead singer/songwriter/rhythm guitarist and harmonica player for the Pagan Hellcats since 2006.  The Hellcats play regularly in venues across the Triangle.

SUMMARY:Soup & Sing - Potluck Dinner and Jam Session
DESCRIPTION:Soup & Sing – Potluck Dinner and Jam Session \nLocation: Stonefield Cellars Winery \n \nReservations for Soup and Sing are Required – Please call 336-644-9908. Soup & Sing is a combination pot-luck dinner\, jam session\, and folk gathering for local musicians/singers and music lovers that harkens back to a time when there were no radios or TVs and music was what we made together\, face to face\, an essential part of our soul as necessary as the food that nourished our bodies.   Many different genres of music may be represented during the evening (bluegrass\, celtic\, blues\, folk\, rock\, gospel\, etc.)\, but usually it is acoustic (we do mike vocals though\, so singers can be heard).  If you are not a musician but are a friend or family member of a musician or are a Friend of Stonefield Cellars that loves wine and music\, you are welcome to come.   We appreciate your support of local music and local wine!  (Wine sales provide the financial support to make this event possible.) \nLarge Parties/Groups Policy:  Due to our policy to preserve the intimacy of the gathering and the need to stay within our capacity limit\, Soup & Sing is not an event for large private parties or groups (more than 8 people in a single party/group).   We do however rent our barrel room for private parties and we can provide you with contact info re: bands for hire.   We also hold barrel room concerts and outdoor music events at the winery during which we can provide concert/festival seating for large groups. \nIf you are interested in attending\, RSVP at 644-9908 or email nwurz@stonefieldcellars.com.  You will be given more details about the evening.
