Songwriter Sunday Concert – Barrel Room – Four Fabulous Songwriters!

July 15 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Host Kris Ferris

Songwriter Sunday Concert – 3-5 pm –   $10.00 Cover charge (tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance – call 336-644-9908).

Come enjoy some wine & live music by the best of our local songwriting talent! Kris Ferris hosts this performance melange, with FOUR singer/songwriters performing his or her songs in the round. They will also take you behind the scenes and learn what inspires their compositions, the stories behind the songs and the process of song writing through each songwriter’s eyes and experience. It is an interactive event and audience participation is encouraged (but please be respectful and don’t converse with your neighbor while the artists are speaking or singing).

Also note:  If this is your first time visiting and you would like to do a tasting before the event, we suggest you come at least 30-45 minutes before to allow for a relaxed tasting experience.  Tastings are conducted in our Tasting Room.  You will be served there and when the door opens for the Songwriter Performance, you will then be seated in the Barrel Room.  Tasting Fee is $10.00 for 7 wines and a signature wine glass.

Bryan Toney is taking folk rock to the edge as a North Carolina alternative folk rock singer songwriter whose voice echoes soft and sweet with strong, hard-driving guitar toe-tapping riffs and intensely personal original lyrics, loaded with vibrant imagery that moves you – body, mind and soul. His music has been compared to greats such as Bread, Gordon Lightfoot, R.E.M. And more. Playing in breweries, coffee houses, listening rooms and other venues, his music appeals to centennials, millennials, gen-xers and baby boomers alike. In 2017, he released his debut solo album, “With a Y”, available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp and more.

Raleigh-based singer-songwriter Leah Kaufman serves up songs with melodies that stick like glue and lyrics that keep you riveted with the unexpected story – Dorothy after Oz, the Don Quixote saga from his horse Rocinante’s perspective. An accomplished finger-style guitar player as well as fine flat-picker, her music may slide between Americana, folk, bluegrass, swing, and blues but they share a common core of exquisite lyrics, fine guitar work, a clear strong voice, and songs you’ll want to hear again and again.

Isabel Taylor is a singer-songwriter whose foundation in 60s and 70s acoustic folk music informs her musical style and songwriting. Her songs are personal, yet universal and relatable — she delivers them with a clear, confident voice. Her debut CD, Awake Again, released in June 2016, reached number 15 on the Folk DJ chart in January 2017.

“…A new voice that is confident and pure and original songs that are assured and authentically delivered. Disarming and vulnerable like a Nanci Griffith, seasoned and rich like a Mary Chapin Carpenter….”

–            Erik Balkey, Hudson Harding Music
