About the band:

“We are a Bluegrass Band that is made up of 5 very unique and different musicians. Up until just about a year ago, we didn’t even know each other and now we spend most weekends performing together! Playng bluegrass for over 20 years, this is the 3rd Generation of Hotwax and the Splinters. We are a Traditional Bluegrass Band, first and foremost, but Clyde’s Originals will have you singing along in no time! The band name comes from an old timey way of extracting a splinter from your finger or toe.

Known as the “Firecracker” & jumpin’ from one side of the stage to the other is Clyde Lewis on the Lead Vocals & Mandolin, Lead Vocalist/Guitarist Ed Renn, Nathan Farlow on the Dobro/Vocals, and on the Doghouse Bass/Vocals is Jeff Rumsey. Our newest edition to the group, is “Award Winning” David Medlin on the 5 String Banjo! Hotwax and the Splinters has been picking for years now with band members changing over time, but always remaining an entertaining group! For those of you that LOVE Bluegrass, you’ll LOVE us! For those of you that don’t like bluegrass, you just ain’t seen us yet! We guarantee it.”
