Stonefield Cellars hosts another High Lonesome Strings Bluegrass Association Monthly Meeting, featuring member band The Southern Gentlemen (see details below).
Note: A brief annual board/officers election will be held prior to the concert, followed by a jam session with band members and other local bluegrass musicians. This is event is FREE to the public!

JOHNNY JOHNSON – FOUNDER , GUITAR , LEAD VOCALIST – COLLINSVILLE , VIRGINIA
Started playing Mandolin professional as a youth with several groups before founding The Southern Gentlemen in May of 1999 Switching to Guitar, Lead Vocalist and Manager, M.C. for the Group. Songwriter and President of Woodchopper Music Publishing BMI . He has Written Over 600 Songs, many of which are featured on The Southern Gentlemen Show. Johnny’s distinctive vocal and guitar style are the core behind The Southern Gentlemen Sound.
BOBBY WHITLOCK – BANJO , FINGER PICKED GUITAR , LEAD AND HARMONY VOCALIST – FIELDALE ,VIRGINIA
Started Playing Banjo as an Early Youth in many regional bands throughout the Virginia Area later joining as a founding member of The Fork Mountain Grass in the 1970’s playing the festival circuit through the 1980’s. Bobby also performed with The Churchmen Gospel group. Bobby joined The Southern Gentlemen in 2007 and continues to contribute his songwriting talent to the band’s repertoire.
BURGESS HURD – MANDOLIN – LEAD AND HARMONY VOCALIST, MARTINSVILLE , VIRGINIA
Joining the band in 2014, Burgess is a fine Mandolinist and Tenor singer-songwriter with over fifty years of performing experience in the fields of Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel. Burgess handles Public Relations, Album Design, and band website.
BILL LESTER – ELECTRIC BASS – LEAD AND HARMONY VOCALIST , MARTINSVILLE , VIRGINIA
Bassist and Vocalist playing in many groups over the years, Bill joined The Southern Gentlemen in 2021. Bill is a fine asset to the group.
